Author's table
Franco Albini designs this table using the strut element already used, to its maximum value, for the Veliero and Infinito bookcases. In this case, the legs act as an upright, presenting themselves as single blocks turned along the entire surface, with the exception of the square section on which the horizontal crossbar is hooked. The wooden cone that surmounts each parallelepiped creates a detachment between the wooden crosspieces and the top, which with its extreme visual lightness seems almost suspended in mid-air. The connection between the vertical uprights and the horizontal shaped crosspieces is defined by visible screws that highlight the concept of disassembly at the heart of the project. The re-edition of Cassina studied together with the Albini Foundation on the basis of archival drawings envisaged the insertion of glass tops that leave the fine cabinet-making details visible.
